An integrator and a dosing function enable batch weighing (kg) in addition to continuous dosing (kg/h). In a modification of the process known from belt scale technology, the weight of the bulk material flow on a chute segment is continuously determined using weighing technology, while at the same time the sliding speed of this mass is measured without contact. The mass throughput is then calculated from these two absolute, i.e. calibration-free, values. The separate measurement offers the great advantage that neither fluctuating product properties nor changing process conditions affect the measurement result.
